Your future ecosystem
We are looking for an experienced and driven (Chemical) Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. In our team of seven experts specializing in water and nutrient systems, you will be essential in ensuring water quality and developing innovative solutions for our clients. This vacancy is a replacement position and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our zero waste and circular water treatment mission.

Between Rotterdam and The Hague, you find the greenhouse capital of the world: “Het Westland”, where our campus is located in De Lier. A region with great economic impact to the Netherlands as the second food exporting country, right after the US. In these 100 square kilometers, Priva was founded in the fifties and is still a family business. We emerged from our knowledge of climate control in glasshouses, but we expanded our knowledge to Building Automation.

How you add value
As a (Chemical) Process Engineer, your role involves the development, maintenance, and optimization of our advanced water systems. Close collaboration with a team of experts, including an architect, draftsmen, sensor specialists, and engineers, is crucial for the ongoing development and maintenance of water systems.

You'll be tasked with developing innovative solutions to meet market demand, and translating customer needs into technical requirements. Providing support to the team by addressing challenging chemical questions from customers is another essential aspect of your role. Additionally, your responsibilities encompass conducting research and validations in measurement, techniques, and separation to ensure water quality.

As a thought leader within the team, your expertise in chemistry and process engineering will be instrumental in understanding and optimizing complex water processes within greenhouse applications. Furthermore, collaboration with external entities, such as research institutes, control technicians, and development partners is vital for enhancing water treatment technology.

Job requirements

Who you are
We are looking for an enthusiastic and communicative Process Engineer. Furthermore, we will read your resume to find:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus;
  • 3-5 years of experience in advisory or product development, preferably in the agriculture or chemical manufacturing sectors;
  • Process-oriented thinking and experience translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications;
  • Affinity with agriculture and basic knowledge of mechanical systems;
  • Fluent in the Dutch and English language.

  • A gross salary based on your experience in the range of € 4.000,- and € 5.500,- based on 40 hours a week;

  • Travel allowance of € 0,23/km with a daily maximum of 240 kilometers or fully reimbursed public transport costs;
