Job description
Join the team shaping the future of sustainable horticulture. As a Control Engineer, you’ll help build the core technology that powers greenhouses worldwide.
Why this role matters
Priva: To protect the planet, we don’t wait for solutions... We pioneer them.
To create a climate for growth, we focus our efforts on creating leading-edge technology and innovative services within horticulture, building, and indoor growing markets. We work with over 600 colleagues, 16 international branch offices across 12 countries, and 400 installation partners to deliver sustainable solutions in more than 100 countries.
As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a Control Engineer – horticulture technology. You will join a small, highly experienced development team with deep knowledge of Priva’s control and measurement horticultural domain.
This team develops and maintains the software controlling all hardware locally in greenhouses. Most Priva software is built on top of these core control and measurement functionalities.
What you will be doing
You help elevate our control application by translating the needs of horticultural customers and internal stakeholders into well-designed software solutions. You enjoy working with proven technologies — some uniquely developed at Priva — and add value by diving deep into existing code to fully understand its logic before developing further.
With your expertise in measurement and control technology, you understand how underlying greenhouse hardware operates, always keeping stability, reliability, and functionality in mind. You implement software changes and ensure documentation, testing, quality management, and modernization of our development environment.
Job requirements
You are a developer experienced in software technical design and creating software solutions based on Product Owner requirements.
You have experience with C code (C++, Python, and C# are bonuses).
Basic knowledge of XML is preferred.
You are comfortable working in a long-standing (Dutch) codebase.
Relevant experience in control technology or installation control;
Affinity with and knowledge of industrial automation;
Fluent in English (Dutch is advantageous);
Able to translate Product Owner requirements into technical design and development activities;
Eager to understand existing implementations while contributing ideas for improved software design.
What you get
In numbers:
A gross salary based on your experience in the range of € 4.200,- and € 5.500,- based on 40 hours a week;
We find a healthy work-life balance important: working flexible hours combined with 30 vacation days a year and the option to buy more;
8% holiday allowance;
Travel allowance of 0,23 cents/km with a daily maximum of 240 kilometers.
For your own sustainability:
Be secure with our pension plan;
Feel engaged and join our participation plan;
