Embedded Software Engineer

One of our Embedded teams consists of a Product Owner, a Tech Lead, and five Developers. You’ll be the tester of this team. They work on embedded software for the main process controller and smart end devices responsible for sensing and actuation in the greenhouse.

Between Rotterdam and The Hague, you find the greenhouse capital of the world: “Het Westland”, where our campus is located in De Lier. In these 100 square kilometers, Priva was founded in the fifties and is still a family business.

How you add value
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior C++ Embedded Developer with at least 5 years of C++ experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in modern C++ (C++17 or later) and extensive experience in embedded systems development. You will be critical in designing and implementing software for our service-oriented, event-driven architecture, contributing to around 15+ modules running on our embedded platform.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, performant, and reliable C++ code for our embedded systems.

- Work closely with other software developers, testers, field support engineers, and product management to implement and maintain solutions.

- Communicate technical ideas, insights, and data to a large (often non-technical) audience clearly and accurately.
- Document and maintain technical design overviews and implementation details for other software developers.

Who you are

We are looking for an embedded developer with broad knowledge and interests. Furthermore, we will read your resume to find the following:

• At least more than 5 years of experience in embedded C++ (C++ 17 preferred) development and Linux;
• Experience with Serial communication protocols;
• Experience with MQTT and/or other networking protocols;
• Affinity to working with hardware;
• Agile / Scrum experience is an advantage;
• Good understanding of object-oriented design, and design patterns, experience with Yocto, Github, and unit testing (for example with GoogleTest) is an advantage;
• Experience using testing frameworks such as Robot Framework is a plus.

• A gross salary based on your experience in the range of € 4.000,- and € 5.500,- based on 40 hours a week;
