Job description
Be part of our growth and become our new Senior QA Engineer
Your future ecosystem
Between Rotterdam and The Hague, you find the greenhouse capital of the world: “Het Westland”, where our campus is located in De Lier. A region with great economic impact to the Netherlands as the second food exporting country, right after the US. In these 100 square kilometers, Priva was founded in the fifties and is still a family business. We emerged from our knowledge in climate control in glasshouses, but we expanded our knowledge to Building Automation.
Priva started as a hardware company and transformed into an innovative software company that grew to become the global market leader in horticulture and a leader in building automation in Europe. Today, we are a high-tech family business developing hardware, software, and digital services for climate control, energy-saving, and optimal reuse of water, with solutions found in landmarks like the Rijksmuseum, Hilton Hotels, and Westminster Abbey.
Our next step is to conquer the digital domain and become a digital service provider, selling subscriptions to "climate as a service." We enable horticulture to be predictable and scalable while helping to grow profitable crops almost everywhere, supporting our customers in realizing their business plans and meeting their targets.
We are proud to be working with over 600 colleagues, in 16 international branch offices divided over 12 countries together with over 400 international installation partners to deliver our sustainable solutions and services in more than 100 countries.
How you add value
As a QA Engineer, you're the bug whisperer in a zoo full of wild code - calmly spotting chaos, taming glitches, and making sure the software doesn’t escape and bite the users.
Team: Team: Amazey - part of Priva’s R&D department, focused on delivering cloud-based engineering & commissioning application for smart buildings.
Mission: Your mission is to architect and uphold a structured, automation-first testing strategy that ensures backend reliability, fosters developer collaboration, and delivers clear insights into product quality—empowering teams to build better software, faster.
In this role, you will:
Define and implement a test strategy that ensures structured and efficient testing.
Set up and maintain automated backend tests (no frontend/UI testing).
Design and build test frameworks, improving overall test coverage and reliability.
Work closely with developers to optimize testing practices, while ensuring they remain engaged in the process.
Oversee the quality of your team's work across all testing cycles, including system integration testing in environments shared by multiple teams.
Collaborate with the QA Chapter to align best practices across teams.
Provide clear insights into product quality, helping the team prioritize improvements effectively.
You will be joining a cross-functional development team in an Agile environment, helping to enhance backend and infrastructure testing within the organization.
Job requirements
You are a senior-level QA Engineer who can take ownership of quality assurance in a team without an existing QA structure. You have a systematic and strategic approach to testing and strong communication and collaboration skills. We are looking for someone with:
5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in a backend environment.
Hands-on experience with test automation and building test frameworks.
Proficiency in .NET/C#, SQL, and Azure Pipelines.
Experience working in cross-functional development teams.
Understanding of test methodologies and automation strategies.
Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure and containerization (nice to have).
A passion for backend and infrastructure testing.
What You Get — By the Numbers:
A gross salary based on your experience in the range of € 4.600,- and € 5,700,- based on 40 hours a week;
We find a healthy work-life balance important: flexible working hours combined with 30 holiday days a year and the option to buy more;
8% holiday allowance;
Travel allowance of €0,23/km with a daily maximum of 150 kilometres.
For your own sustainability:
Be secure with our pension plan;
Feel engaged and join our participation plan;
Keep on learning with your personal education possibilities and budget;
Be happy and fit by using our healthy cafeteria, our free on-premises fitness where you can participate in CrossFit, Pilates, and Spinning classes or play table tennis or table football.
