As a Software Engineer in the Priva Energy Department, you will be at the heart of this mission. You will build digital platforms, optimization engines, and scalable cloud applications that empower customers to reduce their footprint, manage energy flows intelligently, and stay ahead of rapidly evolving regulations and market dynamics.

Your work will directly contribute to:

• Reducing and optimizing energy costs and emissions across Europe

• Enabling customers to participate in future energy flexibility and trading markets

• Optimizing Mult energy systems (heat, cold, electricity, storage, HVAC)

• Driving the transition toward autonomous, intelligent buildings and greenhouses

• Helping customers stay compliant with increasing regulatory pressure (e.g., CSRD)

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop cloud-based software components for energy optimization, simulation, and control.

• Work with our Digital Twin and ML-based models that represent real world installations and environmental dynamics

• Translate operational and market constraints into scalable algorithms and decision-making logic

• Collaborate closely with energy specialists, domain experts, and product teams to solve complex customer challenges

• Build reliable, maintainable, and secure software for mission critical environments

• Contribute to the evolution of Priva’s Energy platform architecture and engineering culture

• Participate in the full software lifecycle: ideation → design → development → testing → deployment → monitoring

What You Will Bring

• A Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a software engineering role

• Experience with one or more of the following technologies is a significant advantage: PHP, Python, CPLEX, Linux, Docker, KQL, SQL, Azure

• You are based in the Netherlands and are available to be in the office two to three days per week (depending on commute)

• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to work with complex, unfamiliar systems

• A passion for creating customer value through high quality engineering

• Curiosity, ownership, craftsmanship, and the drive to keep learning
