At Priva, we are building the next generation of IoT-enabled building automation systems: cloud-connected, security-first, and designed for long-term reliability. As a Senior Requirements Engineer (Systems Engineering / IoT / Cloud), you play a key role in shaping how complex systems are defined, validated, and maintained over their full lifecycle.
You will work on an innovative platform combining embedded systems, edge gateways, and cloud services, ensuring buildings operate safely and efficiently for 10+ years with minimal maintenance.
Your work in requirements engineering and systems engineering ensures clarity, traceability, and quality across hardware and software domains. Your work will directly impact the safety, compliance, and long-term success of our products.
Your role
As a Systems Engineer, you lead the translation of stakeholder needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements. You operate at the heart of our systems engineering process, working closely with product, hardware, software, and QA teams.
You ensure that requirements are consistent, traceable, verifiable, and support the long-term maintainability of our solutions.
What you’ll do
Capture stakeholder needs and translates them into clear, testable requirements and acceptance criteria
Build and maintain a structured requirements hierarchy aligned with systems engineering principles
Ensure end-to-end traceability from system requirements to implementation and release artifacts
Manage bidirectional traceability to support impact analysis (changes, defects, incidents)
Facilitate requirements workshops, reviews, and stakeholder alignment
Apply risk-based thinking (e.g. FMEA) to identify failure scenarios
Define and support Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies
Maintain versioning, baselining, and change control in line with audit and compliance standards
Ensure requirements are accessible, maintainable, and usable across teams
Job requirements
What you bring
8+ years of experience in requirements engineering / systems engineering for complex systems
Strong expertise in writing clear, unambiguous, and testable requirements
Experience working across hardware, embedded systems, and software teams
Proven experience with requirements management and traceability
Experience with V-model, lifecycle management, and V&V processes
Experience with tooling such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or Azure DevOps (or similar)
Experience with baselining, versioning, and change control
Comfortable facilitating workshops and aligning stakeholders
Experience in IoT, embedded systems, or building automation
Nice to have
Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, KNX
Experience with ISO 27001, IEC 62443, or similar standards
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), UML or SysML
